Postman Can Test Websocket Connections Now!
Hi Dev Peeps!
Today I brought awesome news for you! This is about Postman - which is the handiest API testing tool born to earth!!!!
Postman has released a new version with a major upgrade...Actually, this includes a great UI revamp! This is the coolest UI I have ever seen in any API testing tool...
The latest version is Version 8.10.0.
You can get it from here: https://www.postman.com/downloads/
For Linux users: You can get installation command from Snap Store! Visit this link to get it!
UI Updates
This version has nice and clean user interfaces which are very attractive! Simply see the below image to see how it is displayed when we land on the app.
WebSocket Test
This is the most interesting thing I got with this release! Until this version, we were not able to test web-socket connections from the postman.
But now, we can!!
Open postman and select your workspace.
Then click on the "New" button. There you see our new support guy from heaven!!!
Now you will have the below UI to establish the websocket connection in Postman.
Enter your URL to web-socket
Enter the message in the text box and click on connect. That's it!

NOTE:
Previously, I have used a Google Chrome plugin to test websockets. If you need it, get it from here.
Click on add to chrome button to install it on the browser. This is also does the job perfectly (but ugly UI :P)

But now we have our favorite all-rounder!!! I will now definitely switch to Postman for testing real-time web-sockets.
